In our opinion, there’s nothing more decadent than staying somewhere with a roll top bath. Even better if there is champagne sipping involved.
Not just a stand-out design feature, a luxury bath can turn an otherwise ordinary space into something truly special.
With that in mind, here is our pick of the best places to stay in the UK with a roll top bath or freestanding bath – or bath in the hotel room – for a totally indulgent soak.

Best places to stay with a roll top bath in the UK
Squirrels Nest, Powys, Wales

Copper baths are definitely having a moment, but we doubt you’ll find a better one than this. Cadwollen Treehouse is one of three luxury glamping properties at Squirrels Nest on a 130-acre farm in the stunning Welsh countryside. If the bath isn’t enough to tempt you, there’s a hot tub for guests to enjoy on the extended decking area. Perfect for watching the sun go down. The owners can arrange luxury hampers if you are staying for a special occasion. If you’re planning a micro wedding, the treehouses could be your dream venue.
Sleeps 2 adults, plus a baby | Prices from £275 a night, with a minimum two-night stay
Ukiyo Summer House, Coverack, Cornwall

If you’re dreaming of the ultimate coastal escape, you’d be hard-pressed to find somewhere as calming as Ukiyo, a stylish summer house in the pretty fishing village of Coverack in Cornwall. This seaside retreat takes its name from Japanese culture and translates to ‘the floating world’, a blissful state of detachment from the stresses of everyday life. Enjoy panoramic sea views from that dreamy bath. This Scandi-inspired eco-retreat also has a hot tub and fire pit. A truly luxurious stay, whatever time of year you visit.
Sleeps up to 4 | Prices from £1,450 for a short break
The Cosy Cowshed, Devon

This dreamy outdoor bath, which works as a wood-fired hot tub, can be found at The Cosy Cowshed in Devon. Set on 20-acres of land near the Hartland Peninsula Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this stylish stay also comes equipped with an indoor wood burner for cosy nights and its own cinema projector. Dogs are welcome too. Optional extras include massages, a private chef, celebration packages and hampers filled to the brim with local produce.
Sleeps 2 | Dog friendly | Prices from £198 a night
Peony Cottage, Moreton-in-Marsh, Cotswolds

This idyllic retreat in the Cotswolds is definitely pretty, but the bathroom is the real show-stealer here. With two side-by-side slipper baths facing a breathtaking watercolour mural, and space to share a bottle of something in the middle, Peony Cottage is the perfect place to relax after a busy day exploring. The only question is, will you ever want to get out?
Sleeps 2 | Prices from £620 for three nights
The Nest Glamping, Lincolnshire

Put the glam in glamping with a stay at The Nest, a collection of secret lakeside lodges hidden in the Lincolnshire countryside. There are three luxury lodges on site, but each is carefully spaced out. Lodges come with king-size master bedrooms, beautifully designed open plan kitchens and freestanding egg-shaped baths overlooking the lake. While it’s self-catering, if you don’t feel like cooking there’s the option to have meals delivered to your lodge which you can enjoy alfresco on the private deck.
Each lodge sleeps up to 6 | Dog friendly
Price from £178 per night, with a minimum three night stay

With freestanding baths, Cowshed products and double sinks in the luxury rooms, The Ginger Pig knows how to do bathrooms. The food is delicious too. You must have breakfast while you’re there. The Hand & Flowers, Marlow

Chef Tom Kerridge’s The Hand & Flowers is the only pub in the UK with two Michelin stars, but don’t go just for the food. Make a weekend of it by booking a stay in one of the 15 stunning rooms. Most come with freestanding baths or hot tubs. Our favourite is the Limousin Room in Flower Cottage (pictured). Not only does it have a copper bath big enough for two, it’s also got a matching copper sink we adore. Definitely one to book for a treat or special occasion.
Rooms sleep 2 | Prices from £325 a night
The Roseate Edinburgh (formerly The Dunstane Houses)

This boutique hotel in Edinburgh was voted Winner of the Best Boutique Hotel Experience in Scotland, and with rooms like this it’s easy to see why. Book a Suite at The Roseate Edinburgh, formerly The Dunstane Houses, as most come with elegant freestanding bath tubs. We love the Roseate Suite with its copper bath in the bay window. If you’re a whisky fan, the hotel bar has some of the rarest whiskies in Edinburgh.

Another copper bath to make our list, this one is in the stunning Farmhouse Suite at Artist Residence Oxfordshire. If you’re a roll top bath fan, the Artist Residence hotels are for you. At the Oxfordshire establishment, all the rooms apart from the Shepherds Huts and the Rabbit Hole come with freestanding baths. They also have hotels in Brighton, London, Penzance and newest addition, Bristol.

Foxhill Manor, Cotswolds

Two baths are better than one, and they don’t come more luxurious than the Oak Suite at Foxhill Manor. With double window-facing slipper tubs, and space for a champagne bucket in the middle, this is the kind of place you book for your honeymoon if you’re after any inspiration. We also love the Juniper room at Foxhill. Slightly more affordable, but equally stunning.
