The festive season is well and truly upon us, but what are the UK’s most festive hotels in 2025?
Whether you want twinkling facades, crackling fires, Christmas menus or festive tipples, we’ve rounded up the hotels that are most worth visiting this year. And it doesn’t matter if you don’t make it before December 25. In fact, it’s even better to visit over Twixmas – the period between Christmas and New Year – in our opinion. Most displays are on until the first week of January.
From London townhouses dressed in festive finery to country house retreats literally tied up with bows, these are the hotels to head to this year for the most magical Christmas experiences.
The UK’s most festive hotels
Claridge’s
Arguably the most Christmassy hotel in the UK, each year we eagerly await who will design the iconic Claridge’s Christmas tree. For 2025, it’s courtesy of British fashion house Burberry. During festive season Claridge’s is a place to see and be seen at, whether you’re admiring the talk of the town decorations, indulging in a festive afternoon tea or popping into one of its three bars for a festive tipple.
The Savoy
Another close contender for most festive hotel in the UK has to be The Savoy on The Strand. One of the capital’s most showstopping hotels year-round, at Christmas it’s especially worth a visit. This year it’s been transformed into a winter wonderland in the lobby. While their Christmas tree this year comes courtesy of luxury jewellery brand, Boodles. Broadwick Soho
Looking for something a bit extra this Christmas? Check outBroadwick Soho, dubbed London’s most flamboyant hotel. This year they’ve partnered up with Moulin Rouge the musical to create this incredible festive display. Always a delight to visit, check out the Moulin Rouge inspired cocktails at their restaurant, Dear Jackie, and rooftop bar, Flute. Definitely one for festive frolicks, dine here on Christmas Day or party right through to the early hours on New Year’s Eve.
The Goring
Want a miniature pony with your festive celebrations? Pop into The Goring hotel in Belgravia this Christmas and you might be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of Teddy the Shetland Pony. A favourite of the Royal Family, this traditional hotel also has a fun side – and none more so than over the festive season. From Michelin star dining to afternoon teas, at the very least come in to have a look at this year’s Christmas tree, which is one of our favourites, and designed by Lulu Guinness.
The Twenty Two
For understated Christmas celebrations at one of London’s most exclusive hangouts, check out The Twenty Two boutique hotel and members’ club this festive season. Nutcracker doormen and a giant black bow greet you as you walk in. Expect a Loewe Christmas tree, wreaths everywhere, caroling, a Christmas market and more.
Rosewood London
For a five-star Christmas experience, a visit to Rosewood London is hard to beat. Think twinkling fairylights, crackling fires, stockings hung on the mantlepiece and a Charles Dickens afternoon tea inspired by his most beloved tales. There’s also The Chalet, a stunning alpine-inspired terrace experience in the hotel courtyard in partnership with Amsterdam-based luxury skiwear brand, Goldbergh, and The Singleton Single Malt Scotch Whisky, running now until February 2026.
The Ned
One of our favourite London hotels, there’s always something special going on at The Ned over the festive season – and any day of the week, in fact. Visit for festive feasting at one of their many bars and restaurants, sing your heart out at one of their caroling nights or see one of the biggest Christmas trees in the capital, in partnership with whisky brand The Macallan. A festive afternoon tea in the oh-so-pretty Millie’s Lounge is not one to be missed (from £70pp).
Shangri-La The Shard
For a view of London like no other, have yourself a merry little Christmas at Shangri-La The Shard. Prepare to be enchanted above the clouds, have a festive cocktail at the bar, indulge in their ‘Season of Wonder’ afternoon tea (from £89pp, runs until January 6), have a Christmas Eve or Christmas Day feast in the sky – or visit for New Year’s eve where there’s no better spot for watching the fireworks. Choose from an eight-course tasting menu or a Midnight Disco.
Raffles London at The OWO
This year Raffles London at The OWO invites you to experience a ‘Once upon a Raffles Christmas’. This includes a twinkling gingerbread house in the courtyard, Christmas carols around the hotel, a two-course festive menu in Saison restaurant (£60pp), festive afternoon tea in the Drawing Room (£97pp) or a Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Year’s Eve feast in the Michelin Star Mauro Colagreco restaurant. Prices start from £195pp.
The Grove
Looking for a festive experience just outside London? The Grove hotel in Hertfordshire is literally wrapped up in a red bow this Christmas just waiting to be discovered. This luxury hotel and spa is hosting a festive afternoon tea inspired by the Queen of Fragrance, Jo Malone, starting from £70pp. Festive stays are three nights and include Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day feasts, visits to Santa with your little ones and time out in the spa. Those visiting over Twixmas get 20% off stays if you book two nights or more.
