If you love a gin and tonic, this could be the perfect job for you.

The Local Gin Company is looking for taste testers to help them select the very best gins for their craft gin boxes.

A job advert on their website says ideal candidates must enjoy drinking gin served with tonic and ‘be able to provide honest feedback to our Gin Selection Team.’

Key requirements for the role are: A glass, ice and tonic (gin will be provided!).

Could you become a professional gin taster?

As part of The Local Gin Company’s panel of experts, successful applicants will get to try new Premium Pink and Dry Gins – which are all made in the UK – before anyone else.

Only if they pass the taste test will they make it into their gin boxes, which cost £40 each and can be purchased as a gift or ongoing subscription.

The company are seeking two gin tasters from each of the eight regions they currently operate in.

This includes London, the South West, the South East, the Midlands, East of England, North West, North East and Yorkshire and the Humber.

The job, set to start in 2021, will be a regular role. And while it won’t be paid in money, there will be lots and lots of gin.

All you need to add is ice, a slice and tonic.

Madelaine Power, founder of The Local Gin Company, said: ‘Our mission is to help people discover amazing gin being produced on their doorstep – and who better to decide whether gins make it in our boxes than the local gin community themselves.’

To apply head to The Local Gin Company website and tell them in no more than 50 words why you would be the best person for the job.

The closing date for applications is December 31, 2020.
